In her upcoming autobiography, Brandi Carlile writes about what it was like to grow up in a musically gifted, dysfunctional yet loving, impoverished family outside Seattle. In addition, she takes readers through the events of her life that shaped her art–from her start at a local singing competition where she performed Elton’s Honky Cat, to her first break opening for the Dave Matthews Band, to six studios, all while raising two children with her wife.
The Grammy winner also writes about her collaborations with people she looked up to, Elton among them.
