Radio Elton John is excited to celebrate with all Elton fans its fourth birthday this month!

The REJ Orchestra, Pinner, insisted to be part of the party landmark. So yes they are in the photo. But not only!

Pinner took all of 10 seconds to convince George to pen a song to mark the 4th anniversary of REJ.World. The song is called They are the Team. They even followed that up with the production of an amusing – and at times chillingly accurate – promotional video which you can view now:

About Pinner

Here we gingerly lift the lid on our best-kept secret. Pinner!

Pinner was formed in 2021 during the pandemic when musicians were struggling to get their content out and to even collaborate.

A network of 20 artists, spanning ages 20 to 50, in the USA, Europe and Australasia, some Elton fans and others just musicial enthusiasts, was formed and their shared aspiration was to promote their music during a dark global crisis and to preserve their sanity in the loneliest time the world has ever shared.

The network started recording online across the world, with vocalists, instrumentalists, producers, engineers, and song writers and lyricists.

Becoming their 21st member was George Matlock, who joined to write some of the songs and lyrics for Pinner in 2023.

But sessions already began in late 2021 and the project was top secret. REJ was discussed in eltonjohn.world in early 2022. George identified the need to add new ways to reach Elton fans with eltonjohn.world and how Elton fans wanted to receive content.

Radio Elton John then launched in August 2022. Meanwhile, Pinner was already recording songs. The project remained in the vault, away from the outside world and media attention.

Over the past 4 years, REJ.World has managed to bring you first hand accounts from people who worked with Elton John, and continues with many exciting new projects lined up into 2027!

Meanwhile, Pinner was registered as a band in July 2025. Just ahead of their first airing on REJ.World. Their debut was with a corny but catchy song This is London Calling, this is Radio Elton John for the episode of ENCORE! with artist Andre Miripolsky in August 2025. Andre said it was catchy! Thanks! Since then they have made various appearances, leaking out a few songs here and there in the year that followed.

But during the past five years, Pinner has recorded more than 100 songs! And soon you will be able to hear many of them!
