U2 has topped Forbes’ tally of highest paid musicians in 2018, thanks in part to their Joshua Tree world tour celebrating their classic 1987 album.

They earned $118 million, followed by Coldplay ($115.5 million), Ed Sheeran ($110 million), Bruno Mars ($100 million) and Katy Perry ($83 million.)

Elton was in 25th place, tied with Metallica. They each grossed $46 million.

The listing is based on an artist’s pretax earnings from June 1, 2017 through June 1, 2018.  Factors determining each performer’s earnings include music sales/streaming revenue and touring revenue.
