Leon Russell is recovering from a heart attack suffered last week, but is said to be in stable condition.
The 74-year-old’s representatives are optimistic for a full recovery, according a press release from the Oklahoma Historical Society. The Grammy winner has been undergoing tests and is scheduled for surgery.
Russell’s Web site says that the musician will be recuperating for the next several weeks, adding that ”postponed tour dates will be rescheduled at a later date.”
In 2010, The Union, featuring Elton and Leon, was released. The two also appeared in a documentary of the same name.
