Worcestershire have reached their highest profit for nine years, and been in credit for the fourth year running, on the back of a 2.6% increase in revenue and a 2.5% increase in expenditure compared to 2005.

The figures for the 12 months up to September 2006 show that the county reached a surplus of £53,370 – the best since 1998 and an increase of 6.7% on 2005.

The club’s annual report explains that the legacy of the 2005 Ashes victory had a positive impact on the game overall.

It also mentions that other factors included Elton’s successful June concert, a record catering surplus and record levels of membership revenue at New Road.
