Upon the release of The Union, it was expected that Elton and Leon Russell would be nominated for a Grammy accolade.
Indeed, they are up for ”Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals” for If It Wasn’t For Bad.
In fact, the album’s producer, T Bone Burnett, is also in the running for a Grammy. He, along with Ryan Bingham, has been nominated for ”Best Song Written For a Motion Picture, TV or Other Visual Media.”
The 53rd Annual Grammy Awards are going to be held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on
February 13, 2011, and broadcast on CBS from 8 p.m.-11:30 p.m ET.
Meanwhile, there’s a Grammy charity auction on eBay, through December 6, to benefit MusiCares. It includes a vinyl copy of Caribou, signed by Elton.
