Billy Elliot the Musical will hold open auditions for fellows and females on Saturday, September 12 and Sunday, September 13, 2009 at the Lou Conte Dance Studio (1147 W. Jackson, at Racine in Chicago, Illinois). The 2009 Tony-winning show will begin performances in Chicago March 18, 2010 at the Ford Center for the Performing Arts, Oriental Theatre.
Open auditions for boys will be held on Saturday, September 12, and open auditions for girls shall be on Sunday, September 13, 2009. Both auditions will have sign up beginning at 10 a.m. at Lou Conte Dance Studio. Those auditioning should be age nine 9-12 and be a maximum height of 4-feet 10-inches. Boys should possess strong dance, ballet and/or tap skills and have unbroken voices; suggested attire for the lads is comfortable clothing and sneakers. The production is looking for girls with strong tap and good ballet, in a variety of sizes and shapes with expressive character and lots of personality. Suggested attire for girls auditioning is dance clothing. Both sexes should bring tap, ballet and jazz shoes, a recent photo and a resume. Young ladies are asked to bring sheet music to sing. Ally McBeal: The Complete Series arrives for the first time ever as a 32-disc DVD collection October 6 from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment. Ally McBeal Season One will also be available the same day as a six-disc DVD set.
Starring Calista Flockhart, the comedy about a young lawyer attracted a wide array of music from pop culture icons such as Elton and Jon Bon Jovi.
The show won seven Emmy Awards and four Golden Globes.
