Penn State Director Has Announced More Seats For Elton’s Concert

Thursday 24
March 2011 @ 15:40

Elton and his band have a Greatest Hits Live concert scheduled for 8 p.m. Sunday at the Bryce Jordan Center.

Due to the popularity of the event, Marketing Director Bernie Punt said the BJC has opened up more seats for the show. Tickets for $29, $79 and $139 were still available as of press time, but Bernie said he expected the concert to sell out before showtime on Sunday.

We have our dream A-list roster of artists that wed like to have perform here and Sir Elton is definitely on it, he said. Anytime we have Elton John its a successful show.

He said the BJC didnt even have to advertise the newly available seats because so many people have been coming forward to purchase them.

This will be the fourth time Elton has appeared at the venue, most recently in 2002 alongside Billy Joel. Bernie recalled that all of the pianist’s previous performances sold out.

Its been a while, he said. But that just shows you how big of an artist Elton is. He can still draw 12,000 people after all this time.

There won’t be an opening act.

Some artists need openers, Punt remarked. Elton John does not.
