EJAF Believes Their Usual Venue For Oscar Night Isn’t Big Enough

Visitors to the EJAF‘s U.S. site may have noticed that the organisation’s 20th Oscar bash will take place on February 26, 2012.  As usual, the event is planned for West Hollywood, but the usual establishment, the Pacific Design Center, isn’t mentioned.

Indeed, WeHo News has reported that the EJAF told Mayor John Duran that the gala had outgrown their digs at the PDC. This meaning they must move to a larger WeHo space or relocate to Hollywood.

Mayor Duran said that, after a citywide search, no facility of appropriate size could be found inside West Hollywood, but the citys largest park (across the street from the PDC), could fill the role.

The Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards benefit has been held in West Hollywood since 1995 (at the PDC since 2003), and its loss to neighboring Hollywood would strike a blow to the events and the citys prestige, says Duran.

We must keep the event here in WeHo, he declares, if only because West Hollywood was the most impacted city by AIDS.
