Elton’s spectacles, Jerry Lee Lewis‘s worn jeans, Brian Wilson‘s surfboard and Bob Dylan‘s autographed guitar are among the 80 lots to go on sale February 8 at the Los Angeles Convention Center to benefit the MusiCares Foundation.

The charitable arm of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, which runs the Grammy Awards, is expected to raise $200,000 to $400,000 to help artists struggling with addiction and loss of income.

”This is a cause that really helps people at the ground level,” said Darren Julien, president of West Hollywood, California-based Julien’s Auctions, which is managing the auction.

In November, his company’s Web site featured the Osbourne collection, which included an ornate dog house Elton had given one of the family’s pets.

The rocker’s latest contribution, chartreuse yellow A.J. Morgan sunglasses, has been valued at between $800 and $1,200.

The frames bear Elton’s autograph in gold marker–”with love” and ”Elton J.”

Besides a letter of authenticity, there is a photograph of the singer, signing the glasses.

The event, scheduled two days before the 50th anniversary of the Grammy Awards, marks the first auction between NARAS and Julien’s Auctions.
