A Charity Single Elton Worked On Is Now Available On EP

For the last several years, The Killers have released a Christmas single to benefit charity. This included 2008’s Joseph, Better You Than Me. Elton and Neil Tennant, of the Pet Shop Boys, also took part.

Now the Vegas group has put out The Cowboys Christmas Ball, a reinterpretation of Larry Chittendens classic poem with the same name.

The lyrics to the poem have been altered somewhat, in order to fit the bands native state of Nevada. The new composition is now available for download on iTunes and just as with all of their Christmas tunes, The Killers will donate the proceeds earned in the first 90 days to charity. This year, the RED campaign that fights HIV/AIDS in Africa, will benefit from the sales of this new EP and single.

The Cowboys Christmas Ball can be purchased in two different formats: either buy it as a single or as a new EP consisting of six songs, including the aforementioned Joseph, Better You Than Me.
