An airport has lifted its curfew rules for Elton, reported the Telegraph on June 15, 2004.

He’ll be allowed to fly from Aberdeen Airport at 11:30 p.m. on Friday night, after finishing his Pittodrie Stadium show. Normally, planes are not permitted to take off after 11 p.m. or land after 11:30 p.m., but city council officials decided to make an exception in this case.

Scott Cassie, the city planning convener councillor, explained that a man of Sir Elton’s stature should be allowed to fly, and not rush away for an early flight.
